How Do Cannabis Edibles Affect the Body?

microdosing cannabis edibles

Sharing cannabis edibles with the world is truly our passion, but we realize that even some of the more seasoned cannabis consumers may be wary to try them at first. We all have that one friend who took too much and now swears off edibles completely. Lucky for you, Minerva specializes in providing an edible experience that produces consistent effects, at a truly microdosed level

Keep reading to find out more about how implementing cannabis edibles into your days or nights can potentially lead to a healthier, happier life!

What’s the Difference Between Ingesting & Inhaling Cannabis??

The reason that cannabis edibles produce a stronger, more psychoactive effect is because our body metabolizes cannabinoids and other canna-compounds found in edibles differently than it does during inhalation.

First, when consuming cannabis through inhalation, Delta 9 THC, the main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis, is absorbed into the bloodstream, where it then travels to the brain. Typically within 15 minutes or so after consumption, you can expect to start feeling the effects of Delta 9 THC as it binds with your CB1 receptors.

On the other hand, after eating an edible, your liver metabolizes the cannabinoids, converting Delta 9 THC into 11 Hydroxy THC. This new compound is stronger and lasts longer than Delta 9 THC, and since it makes its way through the digestive tract before reaching the brain, you can expect a later onset of effects.

What to Expect When Microdosing Cannabis Edibles

It has been shown that the effects of an edible can range from slight euphoria to a near psychedelic experience depending on the dosage. Also, after taking an edible you may not feel anything for 2-3 hours.

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is taking more edibles before waiting the full time for the effects to kick in. This can lead to an overwhelming high, which is why it is so important to start small and work your way up, especially if you are inexperienced with cannabis edibles. The mantra for edibles is, “Start low and go slow.” We have formulated Minerva Pâte de Fruit with easily digestible fats that have been proven to speed the absorption of cannabinoids into the blood system. Due to the incorporation of MCT oil and Sunflower lecithin, you may feel the effects after only 15-30 minutes, depending on your own, unique metabolism.

Fortunately, we offer our Sunshine Pâte de Fruit in 1.5mg THC:1.5mg CBD and 3.5mg THC:3.5mg CBD and our Elysian Pâte de Fruit in 2.5mg THC:2.5mg CBD and 5mg THC:5mg CBD, so that you can find your perfect dosage.

Why Choose Microdosed Cannabis Edibles?

Whether it be for health or other personal reasons, not everyone who enjoys cannabis likes to smoke. Cannabis edibles provide an alternative for those people who still want to experience the potential benefits that cannabis offers. Experimentation with edibles also adds a layer of fun as you discover new, delicious, weed-infused treats that showcase the best of what the culinary and cannabis industries can offer.

Being from California, we have tried our fair share of cannabis edibles, and we can genuinely say that ours are second to none. By offering the best tasting, vegan, Pâte de Fruit edibles on the market, we hope to introduce cannabis microdosing to a whole new segment of consumers.
